Phil harrison at M$...What nonsense article are the fanboys at Gofanboy going to come up with next? Greenburg at SCE? ;D
(No, thanks)
While Phil would be a great asset for M$, I just don't think he would wanna do that, for a start, and I don't think M$ would want to do that either, for fear of appearing really desperate to try and mimic Sony in every possible way and come across as a corporation which has no ideas or identity of its own. I mean it's M$, ye...
All I can say after reading your comment is "meh" at w/e comment you come up with in the future.
Because if you had played Killzone 2, you'd know it's different to the very tiny little snippet of footage we see here of Killzone 3. The only common point is the gun, period. And we already know there are other new guns in K3, along with new environments as the one shown here, which is ENTIRELY different to the environments in K2.
We had gritty ...
The PS3 controller is the most polyvalent thing I've ever had in my hands since I started gaming over 20 years ago.
Fact: DS3 > SNES controller > Genesis cont. > NES cont. > Xbox/360 cont. > Dreamcast cont. > Jaguar/3DO cont.
And if I were him I would think twice before criticizing a behemoth like Killzone 2 and a talented house like GG, especially if I were the dev. of Black, which only had destruction (in some levels like the 1st one) and nice ...
including new IPs to help you launch new hardware/peripherals?
"Not needed" I assume? Just like Blu-ray discs, hdmi outputs, standard HDDs, etc., right Microsoft? ;D
but why did GG decide to grant an interview to destructoid, of all websites? They can't get their facts straight, as mentioned by someone above, and are a well-known PS3-bashing site.
And wow, when you take a short look at the comments on that site, you kinda understand why they're the way they are: such a bunch of pathetic PS3-haters over there..Oh well, a site has got to make sure it doesn't rub its audience the wrong way if they want to stay afloat, I guess.
We have High Velocity Bowling on the PS3, and I have to say it's one of those games that benefits a lot from the motion control, but WITH THE SIXAXIS controller! The gameplay is very well designed in HVB, with the way you hold the controller, it's fun and it makes sense. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said when holding what's essentially, well, a stick. Not to control a ball. It didn't work on Wii, and I hope then, they're not gonna do that for Move.
As for con...
"So where does that leave Microsoft?"
Answer: in deep sh!t. Sony being the corner stone of the Blu-Ray Association, nothing gets done without their consent. And I for one doubt they're gonna allow one of their direct competitor to have access to their brilliant tech. Or maybe they will, just for the pleasure to see M$ bend over, so Sony can stick it deeply in their arses: completely over-the-top royalties, just for M$, anyone? ;D ;D ;D Hahaha ha ha , lololol ...
Hold your horses Sony, I can't follow! LOL I still haven't had time (or money -_-') to buy Infamous 1! Or Uncharted 2 for that matter, and many, many other PS3 exclusives! Yeah I know, I deserve to be tarred & feathered...
Dang, Sony Worldwide Studios have switched to 3rd gear and have really entered a truly industrial cycle of churning out quality exclusives one after the other. Gamers' wallets, beware :D
Also, Figboy, great comment, mate, as ...
in 2D, 1080p, 60 fps, and release it on PSN. Not some umpteenth average 3D platforming game where you collect 100 coins/diamonds/rings/w/e by jumping on small chunks of land floating in the air... *yawn*
A bit less like Rayman 2 and more like Rayman 1, then.
all of you finally acknowledge the guys at Guerilla Games are no Mickeys, and are actually the real deal. :)
I always knew they would become a major force to be reckoned with in the industry, the very first seconds I started playing Killzone on the PS2...actually, scrap that, ever since I saw the opening sequence and main menu of Killzone 1, with its insane music, graphics, and all its features (widescreen, 60Hz mode, full english, french, german dubbing, etc), I always knew ...
Space+jungle+Snow+alternate firing options+bigger playing fields+new toys+3D confirmed :D
Sounds like Killzone 3 is going to be the dream FPS I was hoping it would be, mixing Killzone 2's breathtaking visuals and solid gameplay with Killzone 1's variety, adding plenty new exciting stuff into the mix.
Christm...er, I mean E3 2010 can't come soon enough! ;D
Let's hope the shoddy device my ISP charges me 30€ for every month isn't gonn...
I agree with all of it, except maybe mario kart, even though the writer makes a point in what he says about this series, I personnally still find it very enjoyable.
But damn it, until I stumbled upon this article, I was starting to ask myself if I wasn't possibly part of a different race of mutant-inbred-gamers for wondering what on earth people find so great in games like counter strike or halo. Glad to know everything's fine with me, apparently. :)

It used to be possible before the merger, when it was still Squaresoft...
Am I the only one noticing a pattern here? I mean, it's pretty incredible the disastrous effects mergers in japanese VG companies seem to have, when you think about it:
-Namco was a good VG maker, making decent to very good games. That is, until the merger with what's arguably always been one one the worst toy maker, Bandai. Now Namco-Bandai is essentially a crap company crappin...
On the PS3 it would have sold, as evidenced by the excellent sales of Heavy Rain and other titles such as Siren blood curse. The mature audience definitely exists on Sony's black beast, and it appreciates diversity. Just saying...
and always prefered to play more accessible arcade racers like burnout and motorstorm, but I'll make an exception for this one.
First thing i'll do when I get this game is hop into the Nascar mode and when I finish the race, no matter the outcome, I'll pretend that Geohot hacker guy is in the other car and I'll pull a Tom Cruise/Cole in "Days of thunder" ;D ;D ;D
miss the point of all of gabe Newell's attacks on the PS3: it is quite simply due to them knowing they couldn't develop for it, much less a game wich wouldn't look like a complete turd when compared to Top-of-the-line titles like Uncharted 2 or god of war 3, due to them being nothing other than a vastly overestimated dev which at one point in the past had the supposed stroke of genius of developping a PC game that told a story about area51 and aliens fought by some mute guy weari...
Gamesradar: make sure you keep the same multiplats in each list so as not to stir sh!t with owners of a certain console. Trouble is, when it comes to the PS3, this system has a very strong identity thanks to an impressive array of incredible exclusives, unlike that other console which has to rely heavily on 3rd party publishers.
Here is a proper PS3 list (order may vary depending on each person's tastes):
1. LittleBigPlanet
2. Uncharted 2 among thieves
NO need to make a Heavy Rain movie. Just buy a PS3 + HR if you want to experience its breathtaking visuals (already pretty much worthy of a movie by the way), and great scenario. Heavy Rain is exactly the missing link between videogames and movies, making a movie with it will not bring anything to the table.
Oh, and Hollywood scriptwriters really need to ramp up their game and come up with ideas of their own.
that have expectations regarding Square-Enix? Color me dumbfounded @_@
When will you guys understand Squaresoft, or Square-Enix for that matter, is DEAD? Dead and buried! It's over! Time to turn the page now! If you still plan on playing JRPGs, you still have Level 5 (the Squaresoft of tomorrow, you can quote me on this), or Atlus, or even From Software...but forget about Square-Enix already. FFvsXIII will most likely be like all those modern JRPGs, a snorefest filled with emo cha...
not exactly what this article is getting at,but you'd have to be extremely naive and/or ignorant and/or blind to not see that M$ never intended to stay forever in this business. With only (under-the-table) deals to have temporary exclusives from 3d party publishers, while maintaining a so-called "M$ Game Studios" with the bare minimum of studios (what is it?Like, 2 studios?) and often dismantle them,it's crystal clear M$ entered this business only to try and make a few bucks,...
